In a special project, they delivered beanie hats for the youth at the WIZO Nachlat Yehuda Youth Village

November 30, 2018

Carla Fischbach (WIZO Florida) and her family made a special visit to WIZO Nachlat Yehuda Youth Village (sponsored by WIZO Switzerland and WIZO USA) on November 30th. They were on a special delivery mission! Along with her 11-year-old son, her two daughters (aged 15 and 12 years old) and husband were in Israel for a family Bar Mitzvah. After visiting the Palmach Museum in Tel Aviv, the family made a bee-line for Nachlat Yehuda Youth Village with a special delivery of handmade beanie hats for the students!

Carla is a real leader in her commitment to instilling WIZO values in the next generation. She is also a testament to the building of Leadership from the Aviv introduction to WIZO. Since her own Aviv Seminar in November 2010, together with Joana Kirsch and Yvette Woldenberg, she is in charge, together with Yvette, of the WIZO Florida Dade Community Bat Mitzvah since 2012. Carla's daughters were part of the WIZO Bat Mitzvah Program. She is also 'The Bee Sweet' Campaign’s co-chair since its beginning.

This year the Bat Mitzvah group worked on a beautiful project together with 'The Believe in Kindness Foundation' (created by a WIZO Bat Mitzvah girl 2015). The girls made 80 beanie hats for the youth at Nachlat Yehuda Youth Village.

Carla's children have been brought up in WIZO they personally wanted to hand deliver these special and heartfelt gift to the students of the Youth Village. They sat with the youth in their dormitories on a Friday afternoon, and connected to the Youth they are so committed supporting.

In Carla's own words she said, 'We really enjoyed it. I love volunteering for WIZO and I love even more coming to Israel and having the chance to see these kids and talk to them. My kids were very touched and happy to come.'

Carla and her family really highlight the importance of instilling WIZO values into the next generation, in those who will continue WIZO's vital work. This visit really shows that making time for a cause close to one's heart pays off in the smiles this family received when they sat with the Nachlat youth. Carla's dedication and commitment not only to WIZO but also to encouraging the future of WIZO is an inspiration to all!
