Henrique Cymerman

 

Henrique Cymerman is a Middle East and International Affairs Expert. Born in Porto, Portugal, Henrique Cymerman made aliyah alone at the age of sixteen. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Political Science and Sociology from the Tel Aviv University.

Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, French, English and Hebrew, Cymerman has worked in the Middle East as a correspondent for Antena 3 (Portugal) and La Vanguardia (Spain). He also acts as a correspondent for the Portuguese channel SIC and has made several appearances for the BBC and television in Israel and Palestine.

Among the many interviews and testimonies of political and religious leaders, he conducted what was Yitzhak Rabin’s last interview, 24 hours before the Israeli president was assassinated. Cymerman was the recipient of the Conde de Godó Award in 2009 and the winner of the 2012 Daniel Pearl Award by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for investigative reporting. He is the author of Voices from the Center of the World: The Arab-Israeli Conflict told by its Protagonists based on a series of interviews with the many players from both sides of the conflict.
