This marvelous and newly renovated addition to the youth village is the ultimate in residential care for the sixteen children at risk aged eight to eighteen who will soon reside in this modern and bright setting.
The guests at the dedication ceremony included grandchildren Alexis and Adriel Deller and family friend Ari Kushner along with distinguished guests including Tova Ben-Dov, Chairperson World WIZO Executive, Esther Mor World WIZO Fundraising Chairperson, Esty Cohen youth village director and her predecessor Yossi Goshen.
The inauguration ceremony began at the magnificent Rohr synagogue with a meaningful address by Afula's regional Rabbi to the Deller family and guests.
The Rabbi concluded with the following words, "may G-d help you to continue to do good deeds, and may your family be forever blessed".
From there, the Deller family was honored with the cutting of the blue and white ribbon at the entrance of the“Mishpacton” building which had been festively decorated with banners of Israeli flags and an impressive floral arrangement. Mr. Alberto Deller along with the Rabbi affixed a very artistic ceramic mezuzah on the doorway of the newly renovated building. Alexis and Adriel paid homage to their grandparents and mother by unveiling the dedication plaque. WIZO's Chief Building Engineer Doron Yechieli and his team were proud to lead the tour of the newly renovated apartments.
Esther Mor, called upon Tova Ben-Dov who eloquently thanked the family for their generosity and outlined the many innovative educational science and agricultural programs taking place at WIZO Nir Haemek Youth Village. Tova stressed the fact that this new "Mishpachton" will provide troubled youth from distressed families with a safe, secure and loving environment from which to thrive.
Esther Mor spoke about the strong ties and leadership roles of the Deller family in the Jewish community in Quito, and how this marvelous tradition has now spanned three generations. She expressed appreciation to the Deller family for their generosity and fondly recalled how Alexis had enthusiastically volunteered in the World WIZO Fund Raising Department in Tel Aviv, and how her wit and skill along with her readiness to help out at the WIZO headquarters was warmly remembered. Tova Ben-Dov awarded the prestigious WIZO Woman of Valour pin to Helen Deller, who in turn paid tribute to her parents for teaching her the values and essence of Tzedaka.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of gifts to the Deller family and guests enjoyed a rousing song and dance performance by the talented youth at WIZO Nir Haemek Youth Village.
