Women Power

In our daily work in our WIZO Day Care Centers, in our youth villages, in our women's shelters and in our Parents Home, we prove that women can achieve everything. This is the message I carried with me when I was invited by Atalia Oberman, founder of the Anitea Center for women in Ganei Tikva, to take part in a distinguished all-woman panel called "So What Do You Say?".

Our World WIZO headqarters hosted over 200 teenage girls from across Israel as they celebrated the conclusion of their WIZO Otzma Tzeira (Young Strength) program, a 15 week course that empowers girls to be all they can be as it teaches them photography, theater, film production, and more at our WIZO branches in their hometowns.

I was so honored to participate in a very moving dedication ceremony of "Yad Mordechai",  the new synagogue on the campus of WIZO Gan Va'nof Youth Village in Petach Tikva, generously donated by the Harari family of Panama, the Jewish community of Panama and WIZO Panama.

Recently I was invited to appear on the Israeli TV talk show "Family Comes First" to discuss the need to make early age education compulsory and free for all children from birth.

Tu B'Shvat 2018

Tu B'Shevat, the "New Year for Trees", a time when the renewal of nature unfolds before our eyes in different colors and shades across our beautiful State of Israel.

I recently participated in the opening of Israel's very first "Social Yard" at the WIZO Beit Morecki Day Care Center in Tel Aviv. This specially designed playground, which encourages social interaction and cooperation between children during playtime, includes a double-slide where children go down it side-by-side.

The WIZO-sponsored "From Nahal with Love" concert was a once in a lifetime reunion of the country's most famous Israeli military music troupe. All proceeds from the very succesful evening went towards WIZO's work for the prevention and treatment of domestic violence.
