I am proud to share with you this wonderful story about from the WIZO Nir Ha'emek Youth Village about their end of the year event for their unique Therapeutic Riding Center Program.

The following is based on a news report by Yaniv Aidan of"Emek News" (Photo Credits: Yakatrina Boiskich (Emek News):

As in previous years, in what has become an annual tradition, WIZO Nir Ha'emek's stables hosted the Ha'emek Therapeutic Riding Center's musical end of year horseback riding event.

The Nir Ha'emek Youth Village proudly reported that no less than 142 children took part in this very professionally planned event.

The audience was filled with proud parents, grandparents and Nir Ha'emek students who all cheered the riders on. Also in attendance were Esti Cohen, the Director of the youth village, and the Therapeutic Riding Center's Director Yvonne Ben and her staff, which also includes students who are trained to become instructors.

"It was a very emotional and special event," Yvonne Ben said. "The audience was very excited to see the riders mounting their horses. They watched 17 performances in total, including a very unique performance to the music of Netta Brazili's hit song Toy, which won the Eurovision in Lisbon this year."

"I believe the number of participants this year is the largest yet," Ben said. "All of the children rode in a most professional manner, with unique outfits and most importantly – it all took place in a pleasant and wonderful atmosphere."

"In addition to the horseback riding, we also held a "happening", a special event with make-up and tatoo booths, refreshments and more," Ben said.

"The students who intern as part of our therapeutic horseback instructors program also deserve a lot of credit for the success of this event," Ben stressed.

Esti Cohen, Director of the WIZO Nir Ha'emek Youth Village, said the day of the event had a festive feeling, and added: "The ages of the horseback riding participants starts at age six and above. Their families cheered them on with signs. The parents looked just as emotional as their children. Before the event, the children prepared a special dance performance with the horses – including special outfits they created with their instructor. The current students and graduates of all ages came to help. I was touched to hear from the families that throughout the year, their children have always been looking forward to returning to our stables and meet "their" horses.
