For 96 years, WIZO has grown, evolved, developed and maintained those very same principles and goals, as perceived by Rebecca Sieff - serving the community in the broader meaning of the word, and WIZO is still going strong.
Yom Hazikaron is the national Remembrance Day observed in Israel for those who fell since 1860, when Jews were first allowed to live in Palestine outside of Jerusalem's Old City walls. Since then 23,447 have died defending Israel.
I am happy to report that my first official WIZO mission was to Argentina to participate in the Plenary Assembly of the World Jewish Congress (WJC) that took place in Buenos Aires (March 15-18), and as a guest of WIZO OSFA Argentina. It was exciting, exhilarating, gratifying and knowledgeable.
