To Presidents and Chairpersons of World WIZO Federations
A brief bulletin from the Jewish Agency Board of Governors Meeting taking place at the Orient Hotel in Jerusalem.
Yesterday 24 June 2018, MK Isaac Hertzog, son of President Haim (Vivian) Hetzog z"l and grandson of Rabbi Yitzhak HaLevi Herzog (the first Chief Rabbi of Ireland and Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel) was elected as the new Chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel with his term to begin in August 2018. He will replace Natan Sharansky.
As my predessessors, I continue to nurture the close ties, established by our Founding Mothers, between the Jewish Agency and our wonderful movement.
On your behalf, I thanked the exiting Chairman for his lifelong service to the Jewish people, and wished the new Chairman a meaningful and successful term. A detailed report will follow after my return to the office.
President, World WIZO
