As I write this, Israel is recovering from devastating fires that swept through the country, destroying thousands of dunams of land as well as hundreds of homes. The city of Haifa was the worst hit and many have lost their homes as well as been treated for shock, smoke inhalation and injuries. Our gratitude to all around the world who rallied to help us and who have set up emergency funds for much needed assistance.
In this bumper edition of Straight Facts, we say farewell to former President, Shimon Peres z"l, take an in-depth look at the recent resolutions passed by UNESCO (English & French), examine the rise of antisemitism in Britain, the rise of soft Holocaust denial and in the latest episode of Talking Tachlis, hear from Col. Saying farewell to former President, Shimon Peres
What could be possibly we possibly say about former President Shimon Peres z”l, that hasn’t already been said? So many magnificent tributes have poured in from all around the world for this giant of Israel, the last of our founding fathers that are befitting his dedication to the country. It was the late President himself, who paid the most fitting tribute to his time in office:
UNESCO Resolution: Jews have no connection to holy sites in Jerusalem:
In one of the most controversial and offensive resolutions to date, UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) voted that Jews have no claim to the Temple Mount and Wailing Wall (The Kotel) as well as other holy sites. The text of the resolution can be found here:

Israel is often accused of being an Apartheid state. Nothing could be further from the truth, in fact unlike during Apartheid South Africa, all sectors of Israeli society can serve in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
