January 21, 2015

WIZO FLORIDA Ilanit Tikva member, Hanna Dorfzaun attended the WIZO Aviv seminar with Jenny Klainbaum. They connected with other Aviv participants from Panama. The Panama girls had experienced success with cookbooks of their own. Motivated by their discussions and the excitement of the AVIV seminar, Jenny and Hanna talked about restarting the cookbook project that had been on the back burner for the Ilanit Tikva chapter for many years. Upon their return to Miami, Jenny and Hanna formed a committee. Emails were sent requesting recipes and the work began. They were amazed by the contributions from the community. The “From our Kitchen to Yours” working committee received over 900 recipes! The recipes submitted were all compiled, tasted, selected, edited, translated, and photographed.

From our Kitchen to Yours was headed by our editor-in-chief Hanna Dorfzaun and closely supported by Alicia Ruben, Rachel Dagan, Jenny Klainbaum, Claudia Benarroch and Keila Stiberman. This dedicated group of volunteers has sought our cookbook completion from beginning to end. It has been a labor of commitment, devotion and love by our South Florida community and a collaboration of numerous volunteers; who sent recipes, helped in tasting, editing and preparing the recipes for the photo shoots. Each and every one of you was a part of our cookbook! We want to thank you all for your effort, time and dedication!
