New AVIV group

In recent months, a group of younger, vital and innovative women has enriched the ranks of the Argentine federation. Its first activity was a resounding success, achieving a large turnout.

The Licentiate Andy Stalman, the speaker that our Aviv invited, who has earned the nickname of 'Branding 'for his expertise in renewing a brand/name. His talk gave tools to our Aviv group for exalting WIZO Aviv's virtues, developing its potential and multiplying its presence. It is a young and vital vision that Aviv wants to print in OSFA-WIZO, it is not necessary to epilogue on this need.

The campaign

The campaign is at the heart of our concerns. We took advantage of the visit to Argentina by Ruth Calderón, a former member of the Knesset, to launch our Action Campaign.

Clara Broide, Chairperson of OSFA-WIZO, offered a lunch at her residence. Our Honorary President Amalia Polack, organized the event and spoke at the closure. Amalia knew how to inspire our chaverot with words full of enthusiasm and emotion. Her commitment to WIZO is an example to us all!

Donations

Every month we receive donations of all kinds of clothes, books, objects, etc. in our headquarters. Most of them are sold in our traditional American fair (or "garage sale") that is already known and is an activity for fundraising purposes. Another part of these donations is given to local institutions or neighborhoods in order to collaborate with them as a charity activity, which in addition to helping those who need it, gives us visibility and prestige in the community.

We made a donation of boxes with clothes and books for adults and children to the home "Los Piletones" Margarita Barrientos that shelters and feeds children in humble situations.

Orchestra of Children and Youth

Every Monday in our house, we host the orchestra formed by children and young people who live in a deprived neighborhood, the former Villa 31 that today is called Múgica Neighborhood. This activity is carried out within the framework of the Law of Patronage of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, of which we are part.

Two hundred children from deprived neighborhoods have found an opportunity for growth and development, learning music and how to play instruments, which gives a new meaning to their lives and an opportunity to move away from the marginal life that surrounds them.
