CONVICTION TO ACTION: REFLECTIONS ON THE MOR

Dear Chaverot and supporters of WIZO,
We have just concluded a historic Meeting of Representatives, and the energy in the room was a clear signal of our future. Over the last two years, since the outbreak of the war, WIZO federations across the globe have shown world class resilience. You did not just survive, you led. You did not just support, you protected. Our work during these challenging years is the foundation upon which we now build.
The MOR was a moment of profound acceleration. We are not starting from zero; we are taking the amazing infrastructure we have maintained and giving it an additional push. We are building from within and taking a stronger, more coordinated step to fight for Zionism within our communities.
Lessons in Leadership and Truth
Our time together was enriched by voices that represent the very best of the Zionist spirit. Major General Amikam Norkin, the former Commander of the Israeli Air Force and a proud graduate of WIZO Nahalal, is the living embodiment of our impact. He reminded us that WIZO does not just provide services; we build the leadership that secures the State of Israel. His journey from a WIZO classroom to the cockpit of a fighter jet is a testament to the architecture of conviction we instill in every child.
Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the IDF Spokesperson, spoke to us about the critical importance of transparency and clinging to the truth. In an era of global disinformation, our fight for Zionism in the diaspora must be rooted in credibility. We are the iron dome of public opinion, and our voice must be louder and clearer than ever.
The Revolution of Responsibility
Zionism is a revolution of responsibility. It is the moment we stopped being the victims of history and became its architects. Today, that responsibility means building from within.
We understand a fundamental truth: as Israel is being rebuilt from this very moment, its strength is an inseparable part of the strength of the entire Jewish people. A state without WIZO would simply look entirely different. We are not just a support system; we are the frontline of the Jewish people in every city where WIZO operates.
Our Operational Roadmap for 2026
One week after the MOR, we are already moving from vision to execution with clear goals:
- Regional Leadership Councils: We will establish regional councils where stronger federations anchor smaller ones to ensure no community is left isolated.
- The Young Leadership Mission: Known as Lev Echad, this mission equips the next generation of women with the tools and networks to lead their home communities.
- Public Diplomacy Officers: Every federation will appoint trained officers to ensure a movement wide response to global challenges.
- The Movement’s Voice: We are launching a quarterly showcase of our global impact and professional webinars to amplify our influence.
- Press and Ambassadors: We will host journalist tours in Israel to show Zionism through the lens of WIZO’s ground level work and deepen ties with global ambassadors.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of our federations across the continents. I have traveled to see you, and I see an empire of dedicated women who refuse to be pushed to the margins. You are the global footprint of Zionism, and your refusal to tire is what ensures our victory.
A movement in motion. A nation in reconstruction. Together, we are the strength of Israel.
Anat Vidor
President, World WIZO
