This year, three graduates of WIZO youth villages were recognized for their dedication, leadership, and personal journeys, reflecting the values at the heart of WIZO’s educational frameworks.

Two graduates of WIZO Hadassim Youth Village were awarded the President’s Award for Excellence in Military Service.

One of the awardees, a combat soldier in field intelligence, immigrated alone from Argentina through the Na’ale program. She chose to build her future in Israel and serve in a meaningful role, demonstrating determination, compassion, and a deep commitment to contributing to society. Throughout her journey, she stood out for her perseverance, her willingness to support others, and her strong sense of purpose.

The second awardee, a soldier in a special unit, grew up in Israel and stood out for his inner strength, modesty, and sense of responsibility. Despite the loss of his brother on October 7, he chose to continue on a path of significant military service, reflecting resilience and a deep commitment to his country. His journey embodies the values of leadership, perseverance, and dedication, even in the face of profound personal loss.

Alongside them, a graduate of WIZO Nahalal Youth Village represents another powerful story of integration, identity, and commitment.

He immigrated to Israel from Ukraine with his family in 2017 and joined the youth village in 2019 as an eighth-grade student. Despite initial language challenges, he quickly adapted, learning Hebrew and integrating into his new environment with openness and determination. Known for his positive attitude and warm personality, he built strong relationships with both peers and staff, guided by respect, curiosity, and a genuine interest in Israeli culture, while maintaining a connection to his roots.

Over time, his sense of belonging deepened. By high school, he had already set his sights on meaningful military service, a commitment that became even more significant in light of the war between Russia and Ukraine and, later, the events of October 7. For him, Israel became not just a new country, but home.

Although he initially aspired to serve in the Border Police, he ultimately emphasized that what mattered most was serving in a combat role and contributing wherever he was needed.

His personal motto reflects his approach to life: striving to give his best in everything he does.

Their stories are part of a broader legacy. Many graduates of WIZO youth villages have received national recognition over the years, reflecting the values instilled in these frameworks, including resilience, responsibility, and the belief in one’s ability to grow and contribute.

For current students, these achievements serve as a powerful source of inspiration, demonstrating the impact of guidance, support, and belief in their potential.
