Human Rescue
On November 25, we marked the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. As in previous years, this served as one of WIZO’s flagship days, with a focused theme that changes from year to year.
This year, we highlighted the alarming statistic that 1 in 10 female employees experiences domestic violence at home, and WIZO worked to raise awareness among companies, businesses, and offices to recognize and address this issue. WIZO leveraged its full range of capabilities to address this critical topic in the “Human Rescue” campaign:
- Public Awareness Campaign: A comprehensive, multi-platform campaign to educate and inform the public.
- Professional Research Study: In collaboration with the Rosnik Institute, WIZO surveyed 600 women to gauge awareness of their rights and options for addressing violence through their workplace.
- Professional Training: WIZO conducted tailored workshops for business managers and HR departments, in partnership with the Human Resources Association of Israel.
- Legislation Advocacy: WIZO is preparing legislation to designate representatives in the workplace who will serve as guides and watchdogs on the topic of domestic violence.

Special Art Exhibition
The “Create to Stop” Exhibition was displayed at WIZO’s headquarters in the entrance lobby and first floor. This moving exhibition of posters, designed to raise awareness about domestic violence, showcased works by creative professionals, students, and designers as part of the “Red Lines” initiative. Out of all submissions, 40 posters were selected for display. Visitors were encouraged to pause, reflect on the messages, and remember that we can prevent, stop, or reduce violence by knowing how to look, listen, and act.
Community Events
Like every year, WIZO Israel branches across the country hosted local events throughout the month to engage communities and raise awareness about domestic violence. Buildings across Israel were lit up in red lights on Monday, November 25 in honor of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This initiative was launched by WIZO in 2018 and has continued as an annual tradition.
