“When the world around them changes, children need us more than ever – for presence, routine, and a sense of security.

With the outbreak of war, we acted quickly to open emergency daycare centers in hospitals – enabling medical teams to continue their vital work with peace of mind.
At the same time, our daycare staff transitioned to remote work: personal calls with parents, ongoing emotional support, and educational content – including videos, songs, stories, and movement activities.
Unfortunately, some centers were damaged by missile fire, but we acted immediately, maintaining close contact with families and staff.
Even when routine is disrupted – WIZO continues to support, guide, and stand strong – wholeheartedly.”

Caring for the Smallest During the Storm

As missile attacks escalated, WIZO’s Early Childhood Division responded swiftly—opening emergency daycare centers in hospitals to protect over 160 infants, the children of frontline healthcare workers and essential personnel.

Operating under strict safety protocols, these centers—now open in 10 hospitals—offered safe, structured environments and much-needed stability to families serving on the national frontline.

At the same time, dozens of WIZO daycare teachers and directors transitioned to remote work, maintaining direct emotional contact with families. They offered phone support, Zoom storytelling, movement videos, songs, and structured routines to help parents and children cope.

When several daycare centers were damaged by missile fire, WIZO acted without delay:

  • Unharmed centers reopened the day after the operation ended.

  • Children from closed or damaged centers were swiftly redirected to nearby functioning WIZO daycares—ensuring continuity and calm for children and parents alike.

Looking ahead, WIZO is already preparing for the upcoming school year:

  • Nearly 800 staff have been trained via Zoom in first aid and safe caregiving protocols.

  • Emergency preparedness refreshers have been conducted.

  • Enrollment and licensing for the 2025–2026 school year are underway.

WIZO has pledged that all damaged daycare centers will be fully repaired and operational by September 1.

In the most uncertain moments, WIZO remained a place of safety, care, and reassurance—proving once again that even during war, children deserve calm, stability, and love.
