Jewish Chronicle: Student Singer Featured at WIZO UK Gala

A WIZO student who has been affected by the war took part in a WIZO UK fundraising event to help her and her fellow classmates get the emotional support they need.
The UK’s Jewish Chronicle, the world’s oldest Jewish newspaper, published an article this week about gifted musician Lara Pines, a student at WIZO Hadassim Youth Village who recently traveled to London to contribute to WIZO UK’s fundraising efforts.
The Commitment Dinner in March raised £425,000 to support therapy and workshop programs for youth at WIZO youth villages and schools, and Lara’s personal testimony and moving musical performance was the emotional peak of the evening. One of the original songs she performed was about the abuse and sexual violence experienced by women on October 7. “…the teenager says that her school in WIZO’s Hadassim Youth Village near Netanya, supported by WIZO UK, has helped nurture her passion for music while dealing with the shock and trauma experienced by Israelis, post October 7.
