The Board of Directors of World WIZO has appointed Marsel Asulin as CEO of Israel’s largest social organization.

Asulin will succeed Mira Mines, who has served as CEO for the past five and a half years. Upon assuming her position on November 1, 2025, Asulin will face key challenges including addressing the complex issues in early childhood education, the rise in domestic violence against women, and continuing WIZO’s vital efforts to strengthen Israeli society and support reserve soldiers’ families affected by the war.

Over the past five years, Asulin (57) has held major leadership roles within WIZO — serving as Director of the Early Childhood Division and as Director of Human Resources, which also oversees WIZO’s senior residence facility.

A Colonel (Res.), Asulin has had an extensive career in command, management, training, and education in the IDF Education and Youth Corps. Her positions included Head of the IDF Education Department, Head of the Training Branch, Head of the Education and Aliyah Branch, and Commander of the Education Corps Training Base, among others.

Following 29 years of service in the IDF, Asulin served as Director of the Technological Pedagogical Development Division in the Labor Branch of Israel’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

Asulin is married and a mother of three. She holds two bachelor’s degrees — in Humanities & Social Sciences and in Business Administration — and a master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Organizational Behavior. She also holds a teaching certificate and is a graduate of the Mandel Educational Leadership Program for the IDF.

World WIZO Chairperson Anita Friedman congratulated Asulin, saying:
“The appointment of Marsel Asulin as CEO of World WIZO follows a thorough, transparent process and reflects our deep appreciation for her professionalism, abilities, vision, and dedication to the organization. Marsel brings extensive experience, a deep understanding of WIZO’s institutions and areas of activity, and a rare combination of value-based and practical leadership. I am confident that under her leadership, WIZO will continue to serve as a central social anchor in Israel and worldwide, leading groundbreaking initiatives in early childhood, education, women’s advancement, and social resilience.”

Friedman also expressed her gratitude to the outgoing CEO, Mira Mines:
“I wish to thank Mira for her exceptional partnership, dedicated and professional work, and for leading WIZO to remarkable achievements, even in particularly challenging times. Thanks to her leadership, WIZO has further strengthened its position as a leading social force in Israel.”

Asulin stated: “I thank Anita and the WIZO Board of Directors for their trust and for granting me the privilege of leading Israel’s largest social organization. WIZO is a home and a set of values — a movement that connects the vision of trailblazing women with meaningful social action for Israeli society. I step into this role with a great sense of responsibility and pride, leading an organization with a legacy of courageous work and social innovation. Together with WIZO’s management team, employees, and volunteers, we will continue to act with dedication, professionalism, and solidarity to strengthen the social and national resilience of Israeli society.”
