Returning to Routine: Stability, Growth, and Community in Early Childhood

Following the Passover holiday, WIZO’s daycare centers across Israel returned to full routine through a gradual and successful process. Educational teams welcomed children back with warmth and care, reinforcing a sense of stability and security for both children and their families.

“Returning to routine is not just about reopening daycare centers — it is about restoring a sense of security, continuity, and trust for children and their families. Especially in times of uncertainty, early childhood frameworks play a critical role as an anchor of stability, and our teams work every day to provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.”
Keren Kamerinsky, Director, Early Childhood Education Division

Against the backdrop of Operation Roaring Lion, maintaining routine has been a central priority. Alongside the return to daily activity, special attention was given to creating meaningful and joyful experiences for the children. Passover was marked through engaging and value-based activities, and in some centers, Purim celebrations were held at a later stage, ensuring that children could still experience the holiday despite earlier disruptions. Independence Day was also celebrated across all centers, with festive blue-and-white events that strengthened a sense of belonging and shared identity.

Strengthening Educational Teams

Throughout the month, WIZO continued to invest in the professional development of its teams.

Regional managers in the north participated in the “Management Compass” workshop, which focused on leadership values, personal resilience, and the strength of teamwork. The workshop created space for reflection, peer learning, and strengthening the sense of shared purpose during a complex period.

At the same time, lead educators in the south took part in the “Touching Materials” workshop, an experiential training focused on working with different materials, age-appropriate methods, and creative techniques. Beyond professional development, these sessions provided an important opportunity for connection, shared learning, and mutual support among staff.

Professional Growth and Community Values

Professional training remained a key focus. In Bat Yam, the team at the Shaul HaMelech daycare center successfully completed a comprehensive certification process for caregiver-educators, marking a significant milestone in their professional development and strengthening the quality of care provided to children.

At the same time, educational values continued to extend beyond the classroom. On Good Deeds Day, a daycare center in Be’er Sheva led a community initiative together with parents and children, collecting donations of clothing, toys, books, and household items for families and women in need. The initiative reflected the core values of mutual responsibility, empathy, and giving, which are an integral part of WIZO’s educational approach.

Continuity as a Source of Stability

Throughout this period, WIZO’s Early Childhood Division remained focused on maintaining educational continuity, emotional security, and a sense of normalcy for young children.

Even amid ongoing challenges, daycare centers continued to serve as safe and supportive environments, where children can grow, connect, and experience routine.

This commitment, led by dedicated teams, ensures that even in uncertain times, early childhood frameworks remain a vital anchor of stability, resilience, and hope.
