WIZO’s Global Leadership Gathers in Israel for MOR 2025: A Testament to Zionist Commitment and Impact

As part of the Women’s International Zionist Organization’s (WIZO) annual Meeting of Representatives (MOR) Week, WIZO leaders from around the world convened in Israel to reaffirm their unwavering commitment to the movement’s vital work. This year’s conference held particular significance, as it marked the first in-person gathering following a year of war, trauma, immense challenges and resilience.

Bringing together delegations from North and South America (Canada, the US, Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil), Europe (Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK), South Africa, and Australia, the MOR is WIZO’s premier annual event. It serves as both a strategic forum—where representatives of WIZO federations abroad approve the budget principles and work plans for 2025—and an opportunity for these Zionist leaders to deepen their connection to Israel and witness firsthand the impact of their work.

Led by WIZO Chairperson Anita Friedman and WIZO President Anat Vidor, this year’s MOR was particularly poignant. Last year’s conference took place virtually due to the war, and this return to Israel underscored WIZO’s enduring role as a pillar of Zionism and civil society. Participants visited critical WIZO institutions, engaging in workshops, meeting with community leaders, and witnessing the transformative power of WIZO’s work in educational institutions, day care centers, shelters for victims of domestic violence, and youth villages.

The itinerary also included solemn visits to sites that encapsulate the recent struggles and resilience of the Israeli people, such as the Nova festival site, Hostage Square, Mount Herzl and the Western Wall. A highlight of the week was a meeting with President Isaac Herzog, further emphasizing the national importance of WIZO’s work.

WIZO Chairperson Anita Friedman:
“MOR is a tremendous demonstration of our organization’s strength, with the participation of our international federations. It is a unique opportunity to forge deep and meaningful connections among our leadership. Our journey this week, from WIZO Hadassim Youth Village to institutions across the country, traces a path—a Star of David, if you will. One triangle represents love of Judaism, love of the land, and love of humanity. But only together with the second triangle—vision, planning, and action—does it form the Star of David. These values, combined with the ability to realize them, are the essence of our Zionism.“

The gala opening of MOR 2025 took place at the WIZO Hadassim Children and Youth Village in Even Yehuda, a beacon of hope and opportunity that embodies WIZO’s mission. A special tribute was held in honor of Esther Mor, WIZO’s former president (2016-2024), recognizing her years of dedicated leadership.

“WIZO Hadassim Youth Village is a place that shapes the future of Israel; it is a melting pot where young people from around the world stand shoulder to shoulder with Israeli-born youth, discovering their strengths and growing into the leaders of tomorrow,” said WIZO President Anat Vidor.

As WIZO continues to shape Israeli society and strengthen Jewish communities worldwide, the MOR 2025 gathering stands as a testament to the organization’s steadfast dedication to Zionism, social justice, and the empowerment of women and families in Israel.
