Accessibility Standards

At WIZO, we make every effort and invest significant resources to provide all our customers with equal, respectful, accessible, and professional services. In accordance with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 1998 and the regulations enacted under it, extensive efforts and resources are invested in making the necessary accessibility adjustments to ensure that a person with a disability can receive the services provided to all customers independently and equally.

Website Accessibility

An accessible website is one that allows people with disabilities and older adults with possible impairments to surf with the same level of efficiency and enjoyment as all users. According to a study conducted by Microsoft in 2003, about 20 to 25 percent of the population encounters difficulties using the Internet and may benefit from more accessible web content. WIZO believes in and works for equal opportunities in the online space for people with various disabilities and/or those who use assistive technologies to operate a computer.

Accessible Website Badge

The “Accessible Website” badge is an initiative of the “Access Israel” organization and the Israel Internet Association. The badge is placed on websites that have made the necessary adjustments to become accessible to people with disabilities. The purpose of the badge is to promote public awareness of internet accessibility and inform website visitors about the site’s level of accessibility.

Site Accessibility

This website complies with the requirements of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Accessibility Adjustments for Service) Regulations, 2013. The site complies with the recommendations of the Israeli standard (IS 5568) for web content accessibility at level AA and the recommendations of the WCAG2.0 document by the W3C organization. The site is also compatible with common browsers and use on mobile phones.

Modifications Implemented

This website has undergone thorough accessibility adjustments, including semantic and informational implementation for assistive technologies, navigation and operation using the keyboard only as recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), color adjustments, and the addition of assistive labels and instructions in forms for the benefit of all users. For an optimal browsing experience with screen reading software, we recommend using the latest version of NVDA.

Some Modifications Implemented on the Site

We have added an accessibility component adapted for WordPress systems (link to the component site purple-lens.com). The component allows control over font sizes, block bypassing, guide texts for screen readers like NVDA and JAWS, keyboard navigation to facilitate browsing the site without using a mouse, adaptations for compatibility with screen readers like NVDA and JAWS, options for viewing the site in black and white/color contrast, blocking animations, and highlighting links. For an optimal browsing experience with screen reading software, we recommend using the latest version of NVDA.

It should be noted that despite our efforts to make all pages on the site accessible, attached documents (such as PDF, Word, Excel), internal management systems, and video files are still being made accessible, and we are working to complete this. If you need a document appearing on the site that is not accessible, please contact us with a link to the location, and we will address it promptly.

Despite efforts to make the site accessible, specific parts of the site may be found to be inaccessible. Therefore, if for any reason the page you were viewing was not accessible to your satisfaction, we will be happy to assist you with any questions, requests for information, and/or suggestions for improving site accessibility.
