Dear Chaverot,

Each year, we celebrate Chanukah, the festival of lights, over eight days. On each day, we increase the light in our homes when we add a new candle to the chanukiah.

This Chanukah, as we prepare our WIZO chanukiah, let us look around us and see all members of our great WIZO family, who add their light to create a better Israeli society.

Around our Chanukiah, we will see:

Over 14,500 toddlers and children in our WIZO Day Care Centers who will light a candle this year knowing that they are more protected and confident in themselves than before.

Around six thousand students and youth in our WIZO schools and youth villages who will add their light to our chanukiah, knowing that in the future they too can pass on the light to others.

Thousands of women will light a Chanukah candle, symbolizing the moment they came out of the darkness through our WIZO programs and institutions, and now build a safer, more prosperous and secure future for themselves and for their families.

And thousands of our graduates, who already joined the WIZO Graduate Association, are now reunite with our WIZO family. This year, they will also light a candle with us and join our WIZO mission of volunteerism to promote equal opportunities in education and society, support weaker populations and advance the status of women.

Yet none of these candles could be lit without the Shamash. This Shamash is you, our dear Chaverot, because it is through you that WIZO lights all other candles.

Together, we change reality, we form new memories, and we create marvelous dreams.

This year, when you light your chanukiah at home, surrounded by your family, I invite you, my dearest sisters, to feel the light that we bring to the lives of those who come through WIZO's doors.

May we all continue our Sacred Mission to illuminate the lives of others and of our own families.

Queridas Javerot:
