Dear Chaverot

I hope that you are all well. Happy New Year! It is my hope that in the coming year, we will all be blessed in abundance!

We have said goodbye to 2020, a year filled with challenges and loss but also incredible changes. Who would have though just mere months ago that Israel would have signed normalization agreements with the UAE, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco and that the little known Kingdom of Bhutan, that does not have ties with many countries would establish them with the Jewish State? The big question on everyone’s mind is who will be next?!

In this edition of Straight Facts, we learn about Jewish refugees from MENA (Middle East and North African countries), hear from one of the most respected military voices why the assassination of Iran’s chief nuclear scientist may have saved countless lives, experience what 2020 has been like for Jewish students and more.

Wishing you all everything of the best for a safe, healthy and prosperous 2021! We look forward to joyful reunions with you!

I hope this is of service to you.

Warmest regards,

Rolene Marks

 The Story Seldom Told

Theirs is the story seldom told. This is the story of Jews expelled from MENA countries in the 1940's and 50's. Over 850 000 Jews from the Middle East and North Africa were persecuted, killed and expelled and it is important we bear witness - and share their stories:

 Arab Normalisation and Palestinian Radicalisation

The September 2020 signing of the Abraham Accords between the UAE, Bahrain, and Israel, followed by Sudan’s declaration of normalisation, reflects tectonic shifts in Middle East geopoliticsbut there seems to be a disconnect between changing Arab attitudes and those of the Palestinians.

The Hate That Can’t Be Contained

The Corona Virus pandemic has resulted in schools and universities being closed. For Jewish students often subject to gross intimidation on campuses, it was welcome relief. Or was it? Blake Flayton, a student at George Washington University describes the harrowing abuse students have faced during the global pandemic.

Israel is NOT an Apartheid State!
