Traditionally between Rosh HaShana and Yom Kippur WIZO Austria invites their friends and the members of the Austrian Jewish Community to come together for a huge charity event. On September 16th, WIZO was hosted by the Mayor of Vienna at the fabulous Vienna City Hall. This year's special guest of the evening was the very well-known Sandra Kreisler, the daughter of one of the most popular Jewish Austrian satiric songwriters and singers, especially in the 60s and 70s; Georg Kreisler.

With pride and gratitude, WIZO presented ongoing projects supported by WIZO Austria and WIZO achievements in general. It is all about telling our stories – for this reason, the very moving personal story of Mell was presented to the audience. It was an inspiring opportunity to encourage visibility of WIZO among decision makers and the interested public.

In her opening speech newly elected WIZO Austria President Karin Maier-Winter underlined WIZO as being one of the strongest links of the Viennese Jewish Community to Israel.
