WIZO Mexico

The Information Committee maintains an excellent relationship with the Jewish Community media and articles related to WIZO are sent to the 10,000 families of the Community to keep them informed about what our great organization is doing to benefit the different sectors of the Israeli society.

Thinking about something different, Mexico came up with the idea of writing about different personalities that have been formed in WIZO Institutions on a monthly basis. One example is the General Moshe Dayán Z'L. (See below). Each month WIZO Mexico will focus on a different personality for whom WIZO had an instrumental part in their lives.

Film Series

During the month of July, taking advantage of summer vacations, the Aliyáh Group held a film series called 'Apreciacine'. Every Tuesday of the month, a film was shown whose central theme was 'The Woman'. After the show, a debate was held on the film. This activity was widely enjoyed and appreciated and the possibility of carrying out another cycle is being considered.

The Films shown were the following:

Maudie: Biography of the Canadian painter Maud Lewis, who with rheumatoid arthritis since childhood, longed to be independent and live away from her family.

13 Desperate Women: The discussion of 13 women in a beauty salon to value their lives.

Broken Wings: A realistic drama that takes place in a neighborhood of Israel and that tells the story of the Ulman Family.

Memories of Antonia: Remembrance of a woman about to die over her life for fifty years, as well as that of her family.
