Based on her occupation - running a community-based non-profit child care centre in Sydney which employs ten staff and cares for children from around 100 families, I chose the Raya Jaglom Multipurpose Day Care Centre in Tel-Aviv, sponsored by WIZO Australia, as the venue for the visit that took place on Monday 15 May 2017.
Avital Blumenthal, Chairperson of the World WIZO Early Age Division also joined the visit. Mrs. Abbott whose knowledge of WIZO’s activities, is impressive, looked very comfortable interacting with the toddlers, who were immediately drawn to this very tall, warm and caring lady.
On the various plaques at the day care centre, she recognized the names of people she is acquainted with in Sydney and said she will gladly tell them about her visit. When she heard about WIZO Ahuzat Yeladim she expressed her regret that her schedule could not permit a visit there this time around, but she would like to visit it in the future.
Mrs. Abbott's visit proved that on topics such as education, women from all over the world share similar concepts and one goal – to ensure that every child – no matter what their background or socio-economic situation – receives an equal and good-quality education.
