I followed with great concern the news of the terrible and shocking terrorist attack in London yesterday. It was heartbreaking to see the iconic Westminster Bridge becoming the site of such an evil and vicious act.
Whilst we have not yet heard the full details, and many victims are still hospitalized, I want to send you my concern, and the concern of the World WIZO Executive, during these difficult times.
We pray that you, the Jewish community, all of our WIZO Chaverot in the United Kingdom and their families are well, and we share the sorrow and pain of those who have lost their loved ones.
To those injured, we wish a speedy recovery and our best wishes for good health.
For us Israelis, who were watching the devastating images coming in yesterday, it reminded the fragile and frightening situation in which we are all living at the present time.
Terrible events like yesterday's serve as a reminder to all of us that terrorism, which we know too well, has no borders anymore and that our deepest values, of freedom and democracy, are under daily attack.
Let us pray for more peaceful and better days throughout the world.
With warmest wishes,
Prof. Rivka Lazovsky,
Chairperson, World WIZO
