On Friday Oct. 30th 2015, Tova Ben-Dov, President of World WIZO, attended a dedication ceremony at the WIZO Maurice & Gabriela Goldschleger Daycare Center in Tel Aviv. Mrs. Renata Perez of Geneva, who currently resides in Tel Aviv, paid tribute to the memory of her parents Nathan and Ilse Gordon z"l through the generous donation of two new playgrounds. Thanks to her, the children will now enjoy safe and hygienic play areas.
Renata, her son, grandson and close friends were greeted by the daycare enter's children, who were singing and waving Israeli flags. Pnina Litvin, who has been managing the facility for over 15 years, and WIZO's preschool supervisor, Yael Yarom, were on hand to greet Renata and her entourage. The children wore delightful t-shirts with the words "I love Renata" printed on them. The celebration continued indoors, where the children sang more songs and played percussion instruments.
The guests participated in a moving kabbalat shabbat ceremony with singing and dancing.
The group then moved into the sensory motor room where they heard interesting details about the center's daily activities and programs from Pnina and Yael. One hundred and twenty children are cared for at the Maurice & Gabriela Goldschleger Daycare Center on a daily basis. Because of the growing number of local children needing its care, the Ministry of Economy will fund the building of two additional classrooms to accommodate them. After learning about the center, the guests enjoyed a variety of delicious refreshments.
Renata and her guests were overwhelmed with the warm welcome and loving hospitality. Before leaving, Renata promised that she would make a significant donation in honour of her 91st birthday.
