For most of us, Rosh Hashana is a time to enjoy holiday meals with family and friends, to dip apples in honey and wish each other a “Shana Tova u’metuka” – a happy and sweet new year.
Yet for many thousands of children in Israel, there is no rejoicing, no apples in honey, no bountiful meals amid the loving sounds of the family holiday table.
These are the children who live in poverty, with empty refrigerators and - far too often – empty stomachs as well.
For this, WIZO has launched a Rosh Hashana Food Campaign to raise funds to feed thousands of hungry Israeli children for the coming High Holy Days, and after.
Please join us in the noble Jewish tradition of Tikkun Olam, by donating to WIZO's Rosh Hashana Food Campaign.
- $10 helps feed 1 child with nutritious meals for a day.
- $50 gives a child meals for all five days in school.
- $200 means that child has a warm meal, every day, for the entire month.
Thank you and Shana Tova!
