WIZO has opened a new family and business mediation center in the city of Givatayim , specializing in legal counseling in matters of family and business law. The new center, in collaboration with IAM (Israeli Association for Mediation and Conflict Resolution) will offer mediation services and legal advice at especially affordable rates. This is the first center of its kind and more are planned to be opened across Israel.
The mediation center will operate out of the WIZO Givatayim Community Center, alongside the legal aid center that gives counsel to women. Beginning now, WIZO Givatayim will be able to provide mediation services for the entire family, dealing with issues like family disagreements, divorce, labor law, corporate partnership dissolutions and even pre-marital and pre-business partnership mediation services. All of these services will provided for free.
This past Monday, a festive ceremony was held to mark the opening of the new center. The event welcomed MK Meirav Michaeli, who spoke about laws pertaining to family disputes. Professor Rivka Lazovsky, Chairperson of World WIZO, who attended the opening ceremony, explained, "WIZO provides a wide range of facilities and services based on the needs of Israeli society. WIZO believes that everyone should be able to access and benefit from services that can prevent or settle disputes, whether originating in the home or at the workplace, which would otherwise end up as expensive, traumatic courtroom showdowns. WIZO is proud to provide services that accompany Israelis both in the best moments of life as well as the more difficult ones."
