A feature article in the UK’s Jewish Chronicle, the world’s oldest Jewish newspaper, highlights how WIZO is taking part in the emotional rehabilitation of Israel’s traumatized population. The article interviews Nurit Rones Raushback, who heads the team of therapists at WIZO’s Beit Hakerem school in Jerusalem.

Speaking to the Jewish Chronicle about how WIZO supports the students at the school, Rauschback says: “You don’t have to be an expert to understand this. The event is not over. How can you treat PTSD when we’re not ‘post’ yet? We’re still living in the trauma — hostages are still in Gaza, soldiers are dying every day, and there are missile attacks.”

“Oct 7 was another nail in the coffin for these kids. Almost all of them have been through trauma, broken homes, parents who do not prioritize them, parents who are ill-equipped to be parents, parents who themselves are experiencing trauma from violence, poverty, drugs or alcohol.“
