Background
In the heart of Petah Tikva, a central Israel city, in a peaceful environment, among ornamental and fruit trees, lawns and gardens, the youth village WIZO Gan Vanof has been located for over 100 years.
One of five WIZO youth villages in Israel, the Village was founded in 1922 as a working farm – an agricultural farm for the training of female pioneers, by female pioneers, among them Mrs. Rebecca Breizman from Russia, an agronomist and planter by profession, who managed the place for 46 years from 1922 to 1968.
Today
WIZO Gan Vanof Youth Village is a spectacular school setting with a green and spacious campus with about 500 students. The youth village includes a middle school (7th – 9th) and an upper school (10th – 12th) and offers several unique majors. The Youth Village accepts boarding students from all over the country and students from Petach Tikva and the immediate area.
Studies in the youth village take place in well-kept buildings. Each class has about 30 students, which allows giving personal attention to each student. The buildings are surrounded by meadows, flowers and vegetation that instill a relaxing rural atmosphere. The students study a long school day in spacious conditions and the vast majority successfully pass the matriculation exams.
The village, which covers about 63 dunams, includes: sophisticated and equipped modern classrooms and laboratories, a tissue culture laboratory, a sports hall, sports fields, an indoor heated swimming pool, a dining room, a nurse’s room, a gym, a library and a resource center, music rooms, a recording studio, a television studio, theater room, art room, workshop room, greenhouses, animal corner, kennel for rescued dogs, lawns and gardens, and residences for trainees and staff.
