History

  • Established in 1920
  • Were forced to close down during WWII but continued to help Jews by hiding them from Nazis 
  • Federation revived after the war
  • Currently 3 WIZO sections in Belgium: Antwerp, Brussels, Liege
  • One section in Luxembourg
  • Fundraising and cultural activities include art auctions, bridge, concerts, lecturers, film nights, and panels in the European Parliament Headquarters
